Phil Hellmuth - Biography
Unfortunately for Phil, he has a reputation for being a bit of a sore loser and is known to throw a tantrum or two when things don't go his way. But fortunately for Phil, his skill and knowledge of the game makes him one to reckon with. In fact in 1996, Phil was voted by his poker peers as the best tournament player in the world. Phil, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, currently resides in Palo Alto California with his wife Kathy and two sons, Phillip III and Niholas. And even though he has a reputation for having a bad attitude at the poker table, on the outside of the game, Phil is known to be a very professional, friendly, family oriented and generous man. With over $3.6 million in total WSOP prize winnings alone, Phil isn't doing too badly for himself at the poker table but for this guy, that's not enough. Phil is an active member of the Ultimate Bet .com team and he writes an ongoing column for Card Player Magazine. Phil is also a best selling author, for his guide "Play Poker like a Pro", which is available in a number of different languages. He has released a second book, "Bad Beats and Lucky Draws", an instructional video, "Phil Hellmuth's Million Dollar Poker System" and is currently in the works on two more major projects; A Texas Holdem Cell Phone Game (he's partnered with Summons for this venture) and his own auto biography, "Poker Brat". You may even see, in the near future, a Bio-Pic of this great poker players life, brought to you by Beacon Pictures. |
