Tuesday, November 29, 2005New and Big Promotion at Party PokerEarlier this month Party Poker gave away a Ferrari F430 Coup as a first place prize in one of their many online poker tournaments. Well they have just started a new promotion where the prizes just keep on getting better. It seems as though there is no limit to where Party Poker may go next. Over the next month and a half, Party Poker will be hosting a number of online qualifying tournaments which, on top of cash prizes, will land you a seat to the Main No Limit Texas Holdem event that will be taking place on January 15th 2006. The event is a $600,000 guarantee with top prizes that are, for some, a dream come true. The player who finishes the tournament in first place will win 25 hours worth of airtime in a luxury private jet. If you win this prize you can take off from over 5,500 airports worldwide and take up to 6 friends along for the adventured. This prize is valued at $125,000. And if that's not enough the 2nd place finisher will go home with a Mercedes G55 AMG. This luxury SUV is equipped with a supercharged V-8 engine and is worth $105,000. Coming in third place will land you a Mercedes ML500-SUV valued at $75,000. Fourth and Fifth place finishers will receive a Mercedes SLK350 ($68,000) and a Mercedes C350 ($50,000) respectively. The rest of the $600,000 guaranteed prize will be rewarded to the remaining 220 placed finishers by means of cash, divided according to a pre-determined pay-out structure. The tournaments qualifiers are taking place right now in the form of single and multi table tournaments. Each day you will find a $5 + $1 buy-in multi table qualifier at 7:45pm ET, a $10 +$1 multi table qualifier at 10:35pm ET and at 3:50 pm you can enter a multi table qualifier tournament if you have 500 Party Points. And every day, all day, you can qualify for the main event by taking part in a $5 +$1 single- table Sit and Go, a $36 + $3 single-table Sit and Go or a $20 +$2 multi table tournament. All of these qualifiers are No Limit Texas Holdem poker games. Saturday, November 26, 2005 WSOP Champions Choose PokerStarsOne of the world's biggest online poker rooms, PokerStars.com are pleased to announce that the 2005 WSOP champion Joseph Hachem has joined past champions, Chris "Moneymaker" and Greg Raymar as a loyal PokerStars player and spokesperson. Maybe it's because PokerStars has some of the best multi-player tournaments on the web, or for their fantastic promotions or maybe it's their affiliation with huge events such as the WSOP or the WPT. Whatever it is, the three champion poker players are proud to call PokerStars home. Earlier this year, Australia native Joseph Hachem made poker history and won the largest gambling prize ever known, $7.5 million, when he was named the 2005 WSOP champion. Hachem has been playing at PokerStars since 2002 and has played over 100,000 hands at the poker room during this time. Since his new found wealth, you will likely find Hachem taking part in some of the larger buy-in tournaments these days at Pokerstars. Last year it was Greg Raymar who everyone was talking about. Known in the poker world as "Fossilman", Greg won a satellite qualifier at PokerStars earning him a free trip to a WSOP event. And to his surprise, he won the main event, making him a 2004 World Series of Poker champion. This ex patent lawyer is now one of the games biggest ambassadors. If you would like to play a game with Greg at PokerStars, look for the "Fossilman" (this is the name he plays under). These days, every poker fan has heard of Chris Moneymaker. Like Greg, Chris won a PokerStars satellite competition and went on to win the 2003 WSOP main event. Since this win, Chris has appeared at the final table in many big tournaments and will continue to do so for many years. The ex account turned poker pro plays at PokerStars under the name "Money800". Tuesday, November 22, 2005 Recent Online Poker Big Money WinnersFor those of you who are still a little unsure of the legitimacy and true money making abilities of the online casino and poker room the following should rid any doubts you may carry. And for those of you who have already put in some time (and money) into the online poker room, you need not worry, there is a lot of cash up for grabs and, if you know your game and play it right, some of this money is sure to come your way. Here is a brief look into where some of this money (and prizes) has gone recently. This year at PokerRoom.com, Pearl_Jam 10 won the Hockey promotion and he and a friend were sent to Sweden for an exciting trip full of hockey themed activities. Poker player, Nick Reid also won a trip to Sweden by playing at PokerRoom where he and his friends got to stay at the famous Absolut Ice Hotel. In October, Full Tilt Poker featured a promotion called “The Hunt for Red October&rdquo and it was online poker player called trouble who won $10 000 in prize money. But for some, even better than the cash was that trouble had a chance to play head to head poker with three pro’s, Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey and Phil Gordon. Not only did trouble get this once in a lifetime opportunity but he actually beat Ivey and Gordon. At Noble Poker it seems as though it is the progressive jackpots that have been paying out the big bucks lately. Noble poker players, Dimitriy Soukhanov, hapiman and Douglas Evenhus have all recently won $30,000, $25,000 and 18,500, respectively, in Rio and Maui Progressive Jackpots. The world’s favorite online poker room, Party Poker, isn’t holding back at all these days. On November 19 poker player, depueblo, was the winner of the Million Dollar Guarantee Tournament and took home a whopping $222,264. This tournament is played once a month and last month it was lovelyday who won the first place prize of $217,602. Last month at Empire Poker it was tournament winner, Snaphook, who was in the spotlight. Snaphook won a $12,000 prize package sending him to take part in a World Series of Poker main event in Las Vegas. Unfortunatley Matt (Snaphook) didn’t make it to the final table but the experience was a once in a life time achievement. Snaphook isn’t the only lucky online player to win a free, all expense paid trip to a WSOP, or to the equally famous, WPT events. A number of online poker rooms are constantly sending online qualifiers to represent them in these prestigious contests. Congratulations to these big winners and Good Luck to you in your future online poker games and tournaments. Thursday, November 17, 2005 The Second Annual Caribbean Poker ClassicThe 2005 Caribbean Poker Classic (CPC) is just around the corner and at Inter Poker you still have a shot at winning a 10k prize package to the events. Your prize package will include $1300 9 nights stay at the Marriot Resort, $1400 to be deposited into your poker account, $1000 in cash upon your arrival and the $6300 buy-in to the main No-Limit event on the last day. This year’s event will be taking place from November 24 th through Dec 4 th on the beautiful white sandy beaches of St. Kitts. Not only will you be getting away from the cold wintery weather for ten luxurious days in paradise but you will be staking your claim of a prize pool of nearly $2.5 million. Last years event was a great success. It was the first of an event that is hoped will survive for many years to come. It seems as the though it is heading in the right direction as this year the prize pool is more than doubled and the hype edging up to the event is clearly exciting as many are doing whatever they can to be a part of it. The first tournament that was played last year around the same time took place in the unforgettable Caribbean Island of St. Maarten. The poker events played themselves out in the Casino Royale and were as thrilling as any major poker tournament. The final and main event was televised and 157 players competed in the $5000 buy-in No Limit Texas Holdem tournaments. The final table comprised of six great poker playes from all around the world, but it was English player John Earle who survived the day and took home the honor of becoming the first Caribbean Poker Classic champion, along with over $200,000. This year’s St. Kitts event is spread out over 9 days where a total of 5 different No Limit tournaments will be taking place with the $6000 buy-in main event beginning on December 1 st and the televised final table of the tournament planned to start on December 3 rd. A number of online poker rooms are featuring satellite competitions and tournaments to send players to the CPC, so get to Inter Poker or one of these other great poker rooms as soon as possible because as we’ve said, the event is just around the corner. Paradise is waiting for you. Friday, November 11, 2005 Lederer and Duke's Fantasy/Reality Poker CampIt’s one thing to read a book written by a pro poker player to help improve your poker game or to compete online against some of the best, but this December you can win a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet, learn from and compete against some of the best poker players, in person. Next month on December 11 th, Full Tilt Poker will be rewarding their Top Players with a spot in one of 3 substantial Free Roll Tournaments.
