Thursday, November 17, 2005The Second Annual Caribbean Poker ClassicThe 2005 Caribbean Poker Classic (CPC) is just around the corner and at Inter Poker you still have a shot at winning a 10k prize package to the events. Your prize package will include $1300 9 nights stay at the Marriot Resort, $1400 to be deposited into your poker account, $1000 in cash upon your arrival and the $6300 buy-in to the main No-Limit event on the last day. This year’s event will be taking place from November 24 th through Dec 4 th on the beautiful white sandy beaches of St. Kitts. Not only will you be getting away from the cold wintery weather for ten luxurious days in paradise but you will be staking your claim of a prize pool of nearly $2.5 million. Last years event was a great success. It was the first of an event that is hoped will survive for many years to come. It seems as the though it is heading in the right direction as this year the prize pool is more than doubled and the hype edging up to the event is clearly exciting as many are doing whatever they can to be a part of it. The first tournament that was played last year around the same time took place in the unforgettable Caribbean Island of St. Maarten. The poker events played themselves out in the Casino Royale and were as thrilling as any major poker tournament. The final and main event was televised and 157 players competed in the $5000 buy-in No Limit Texas Holdem tournaments. The final table comprised of six great poker playes from all around the world, but it was English player John Earle who survived the day and took home the honor of becoming the first Caribbean Poker Classic champion, along with over $200,000. This year’s St. Kitts event is spread out over 9 days where a total of 5 different No Limit tournaments will be taking place with the $6000 buy-in main event beginning on December 1 st and the televised final table of the tournament planned to start on December 3 rd. A number of online poker rooms are featuring satellite competitions and tournaments to send players to the CPC, so get to Inter Poker or one of these other great poker rooms as soon as possible because as we’ve said, the event is just around the corner.
